As I began to learn about the Hebrew roots of Christianity I was taught that Messiah’s Hebrew Name is Yeshua which means “Yah is salvation”.

As I studied more, I learned that the Name “Jesus” first appeared in the King James version revision of 1769 as an anglicized transcription of the Latin name “Iesus” (KJV 1611) which is a transliteration of the Greek name “Ieousus”.

Since those days almost 30 years ago, there has arisen more and more controversy over the PRONUNCIATION of Messiah’s Name. Some teach that when one uses the name “Jesus” they are calling on the pagan god Zeus.  Then a teaching arose that in Hebrew  “Baal” means “Lord” and since the church translators replaced Yahweh, with “Lord” then when one uses the title “Lord” to Messiah you are worshiping Baal. 

 It’s like a merry-go-round… on and on it goes where she stops nobody knows!

This kind of stuff only causes confusion in the Body of Messiah and it is a distraction by
Ha-satan. He either keeps us fighting over the PRONUNCIATION of Messiah’s Name or spending all our time and energy trying to ascertain Messiah’s “True” Name. 

We were not called by Messiah to ascertain and teach His “true Name”. We are called by Him to go into a lost and dying world and preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God...to bind the brokenhearted, to heal, to set free the captives, set at liberty those bound by the evil one.

We are to preach that Messiah has come. He paid the penalty for our sins by His death on the execution stake. He rose again defeating Ha-satan, the god of this world. When we confess Messiah as our Lord and savior we are born again, new creatures and translated out of the dominion of Ha-satan into the glorious Kingdom of Messiah. Ha-satan no longer has rule
over us.

Ha-satan is not stupid...he is crafty. He seeks to take our focus from that which destroys his kingdom and advances God's Kingdom.  

Messiah told us we have all authority in His Name. If the evil one can make us believe we have to know and perfectly pronounce the “True Name” and then confuses us as to what the “True name “ is,  he has made us ineffective against his kingdom .

By falling for Ha-satan’s trick, he once again distracts us….. Watch the shiny object over here (in this case the “True Name” or “True pronunciation” of Messiah’s Name). We are focusing so hard on this that  WE MISS THE POWER  AND AUTHORITY WE HAVE IN  MESSIAH THAT DESTROYS THE WORKS OF HA-SATAN.  It’s not the perfect pronunciation of His Name but rather it’s faith in the PERSON behind the Name…Messiah.
My husband, Bob, and I have seen people born again saved, healed and delivered in Jesus ‘ Name. We’ve seen demons flee in Jesus’ Name. We’ve seen withered limbs grow out in Jesus’ name and when a woman dropped dead in a church service, my husband and others laid hands on her in Jesus’ Name and she was raised up ( her daughter-in-law  was a RN and verified she was dead on the scene).

That said..Bob and I have seen the same things in Yeshua’s name. A woman who had surgery on her ankle after a car wreck was walking uneven because they shaved a piece of her bone off and one leg was shorter than the other. In Yeshua’s Name her legs became even. 
Another lady who was born with a shortened ligament and the surgeries to correct it had
failed, was healed and for the first time she could point her foot downward.
A lady at a conference  we were sponsoring asked for prayer for her uncle who had a heart attack in Canada. We stopped and we prayed in Yeshua’s Name. We found out later the medical people had worked to get his heart started again and could not. The doctor was on his way to tell the family and friends the man had died, when the lady’s Uncle  took a breath.  The testimony is that when man had done all he knew Yeshua stepped in and raised him from the dead.

 

Think about this.  The word “idol” in Hebrew literally means a” non-existent thing, worthless, futile” If using the name of Jesus  was calling upon Zeus, as some would teach, then that is a non - existent thing. If non- existent then how did these people receive salvation, healing and deliverance to the point some were literally raised from the dead? It was not a “non-existent thing” who did it. It was Almighty God!

I, personally use what I believe to be Messiah’s  Hebrew Name.. Yeshua. I also know and trust my Messiah enough to know that even if I do not have the totally correct pronunciation of His Name, Messiah knows , I know and the demons know whose authority  I am calling upon and
it is done according to His Word!

It is by belief in HIM and His authority that He has given us in His Name, not the totally correct pronunciation of His Name.  It is the PERSON behind the Name.

Let’s be about the work of the Kingdom of God and tear down Ha-satan’s strongholds in people’s lives and setting the captives free in Messiah’s mighty Name. 

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matt.28:18-20
